The GTR is really a 'Velvet glove,Iron fist' type car.The car showed dominance beyond belief in the Australian touring car championships in the late eighties and early ninties blowing away all comers. The traditional boofheaded 'Aussie V8' mentality lead to the eventual downfall of the GTR from the touring car scene. The RB26DETT engine was developed using the latest technology and it was made to perform. It is not unheard of in Japan for GTR's to be pushing out close to 1000bhp and these are street driven! One car that I have read about did a mid 10 second quarter mile, and that is from a car weighing a tonne and a half! Can you imagine what sort of times the car would do if it weighed 500 kilos less? The mind just boggles at the thought. And I have recently read that another japanese GTR went from standstill to 300km/hr in 17 seconds.... This car here is the R-33 GTR.Notice that compared to the R-32,the R-33 is alot more sleek, not as rough edged as the earlier model. For mine I prefer the R-32,it just looks alot tougher than the R-33.But if i was handed the keys to either I am not going to say no! I have never had the pleasure of driving a GTR,I can only wish.I have seen a few on the roads though and i drool everytime. The evil swooping nose, the rear wing and those tail lights just do so much for me!I can honestly say that seeing a GTR can brighten up any foul day that i might be having, though seeing one is a rare occasion.
